Our Membership Drive:
Currently, we are in dialogue with a few progressive laboratories regarding available memberships. There is strength in numbers and yet we are limiting our growth to 18 total membership laboratories. This increases our group's capabilities in our marketing initiatives and productdevelopment programs. As a participant in our group, you will achieve far more through our synergetic approach than what any one lab can achieve on their own.

Who is The Barnes Group?
Established in 1997, The Barnes Group is a think tank and technical consortium of independently-owned dental laboratories from across the U.S. and Canada. Our members focus on growth and meeting the challenges of our changing profession.

What does The Barnes Group discuss?
Areas of discussion may include your laboratory's:

• emerging technologies
• technical tips and techniques
• management, marketing and business strategies.
• teamwork and employee morale/motivation
• efficiency, productivity and profitability
• standardizing laboratory and business procedures

We also evaluate and discuss potential speakers for your seminars. We assist laboratories in becoming sponsoring agents of C.E. credits and are involved in continuing education seminars for your doctors.

We share financial figures such as labor, productivity, salaries, profit margins, etc.

In addition to communicating with our office, there is a great deal of communication between members. Each member receives consulting services directly from Alan each month.

When and where are the meetings held?
We meet three times a year. Our January meeting is in Phoenix, Arizona and our May and October meetings are held in Highland Beach, Florida. Meetings begin at 6:30pm on Fridays and end at 1:00pm on Sundays.

Why is there a need for The Barnes Group?
With the challenges of off-shore competition, the rapid advances in automated technology and the changing market demands, it is almost impossible for one laboratory to keep abreast of everything. We currently have many special projects in development for our members.

Our group members are positioned to maintain their presence as high-end dental labs offering products, technical support services and continuing education seminars for esthetic and cosmetic dentistry, implants, oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea and removable prosthetics.
